Bishopric Message – November 2021

Daily Reading from Book of Mormon

As a Bishopric, we felt it important to move forward challenging all the members of our ward to find time to be in the Book of Mormon each day.  For some this might take the shape of hours of scripture study, others it might be listening to the Book of Mormon through the LDS Library on the way to work, and yet others it might be simply reading a single verse from the Book of Mormon on a really hard day.

This challenge is not about finishing a task, it is about creating a consistent habit.  Keep in mind Moroni’s Promise found in Moroni 10:3-5 as you read daily.

3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

A testimony starts with a desire to believe.  Build your testimony on the words of Christ found in the Book of Mormon and hold tight to the Iron Rod, the Word of God which leads to the tree, the Love of God, and partake of the Fruit of the Tree, the Love of God, then feel His love grow within you.

I hope that all will partake of the Love of God by tasting of the Fruit and allowing it to fill our souls with Forgiveness and Love.

Love,

Bishop Anderson
