I remember Ivan’s testimony he gave at the end of a lesson priesthood. I don’t remember the lesson but his testimony left an impression on me. It was simple, powerful, and heartfelt. He talked about how life hasn’t been easy yet with the Lord’s help, we can endure. It was at the low times that he felt the comforting power of the Holy Ghost lifting him and supporting his family.
Ivan always greeted me as I walked into Sacrament Meeting. His infectious smile, calling me by name, at times it was simply an elbow touch instead of a handshake always there, sitting on the back row east side of the chapel.
A kind, strong, and humble man – Disciple of the Lord!
